READ Ruth Ch. 3: 1- 18
Revisit this: How desperate was the plight of Naomi and Ruth? What does Boaz represent to them/ How does he help them find rest?
When we hear "rest" we often think of sleep, but it means so much more than that. What other words come to mind when you think more deeply about the concept of "rest?"
In what ways do you need "rest" the most? And, where do you find it?
What was Ruth actually asking from Boaz? Was she being vulnerable, and what does that say about her?
What does Boaz call Ruth? (Leader: verse 11) (Have someone read Prov. 31:10-11, 28-30)
Ruth becomes the accepted "outcast!" How is the story of Boaz and Ruth a picture of this redemption? What does this say about God's love for those who were once outcasts?
READ: Matt. 11: 29-30 ; Robey referenced Jesus saying that his yoke is light. Notice what he is saying - We will have a yoke on us. It can be his yoke, which is light and he carries for us, giving us rest. Or it can be the yoke of the world, which is heavy. What does that yoke consist of? What is the result of wearing that yoke? (no rest, because we can never achieve what we strive for)
